What to ask any development company, and our answers
- Who owns the code?
- You do. Ownership of the work is assigned to you in the contract, and the assignment is written down before the build starts.
- Can I see the work as it happens?
- Yes. The code lives in a repository you can read from the first commit, and working software goes on a staging environment you can open.
- What can I hold you to?
- A written scope. It states what is included, what is left out, what you will receive and how changes are agreed.
- Where will my data sit?
- That is settled in writing during scoping. Hosting accounts are opened in your name, so you choose the region and hold the keys.
- What if we stop working together?
- You keep the repository, the cloud accounts and the documentation. Handover is part of the plan from the start, not a favor at the end.
- How do I try you without a big commitment?
- Start with a small, scoped first phase. It gives you a usable result and shows how we work before you commit to the rest.
