Where this fits

Your roadmap outruns your team

You have more planned work than your current engineers can deliver.

You need a specific skill

A project calls for smart contract, AI or DevOps experience you do not have in house.

You have technical leadership

This model works best when someone on your side directs the daily work.

What is agreed in writing

Roles and skills
The profile you need, and a chance to interview people before they start.
Working hours
The hours of overlap with your team, stated up front.
Ownership and confidentiality
Work is assigned to you, and confidentiality terms cover everyone involved.
Tools and access
People work in your systems, with access you control and can remove.
Replacement
What happens if someone is not the right fit or leaves.
Ending the arrangement
Notice periods and a handover of work in progress.

Dedicated team, staff augmentation or fixed-scope project?

These outsourcing models differ mainly in who directs the work and who carries the delivery risk.

Staff augmentation
One or more developers join your existing team. You manage them and carry delivery risk.
Dedicated team
A longer-term group working only on your product under your direction, often with its own lead.
Fixed-scope project
An agreed result under our management. Best when the requirements are stable.

Making a remote team work

Most problems with remote teams come from unclear priorities, not distance. Give them one person to take direction from, written requirements, the same tools and meetings as your own engineers, and the same code review.

Pakistan is several hours ahead of Europe and further ahead of the US, so agree the overlap hours in advance and use them for decisions. Written handovers can cover the rest.

Is a team the right model?

  1. 01

    Choose a team when

You can direct the work yourself and your priorities change often.

  2. 02

    Choose a project when

You want an agreed result and would prefer us to manage how it gets there.

  3. 03

    Start small

One or two people for a defined period is an easy way to test the fit.

  4. 04

    Keep knowledge with you

Shared documentation and code review keep the knowledge in your team.

Common questions

Who manages the developers day to day?

You direct the work. We handle their employment and step in if there is a problem.

Can we interview people first?

Yes. You should meet anyone who will work on your product.

What does it cost?

It depends on the roles and the length of the engagement. You get written terms before anyone starts.

How long does an engagement need to be?

That is agreed in writing. Starting with a defined trial period lets both sides check the fit before committing further.
